Cleverence Kombe is a cybersecurity and blockchain technology researcher and consultant. He has 8+ years experience of working with public and private organizations. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Information and Communication Science and Engineering at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (Arusha, Tanzania) in 2020. His theses focused on developing a secure and interoperable blockchain-based information sharing system for healthcare providers.
He has great knowledge and strong skills and experience in computer programming, computer networking, cyber-security, database, data science, and blockchain.

How did you get to become an expert in your key topics?
Through my educational background and professional experience. In education, I studied a Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Security and a Master’s degree in Computer Science, and several certificate courses. In addition to a master’s degree and doctoral level, my research has focused on blockchain technology and information systems security.In terms of experience, I work with private companies and start-ups, academic institutions (e.g. ESAMI, MUST, UDOM in Tanzania, JKUAT in Kenya), public sector (e.g. Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology, Regional Administration of the President’s Office, and Local Government in Tanzania) and international organizations (e.g. International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Hyperledger Foundation).

Self-Sovereign Identity, Blockchain Security, and Central Bank Digital Currency.

Researchers and top experts, but also reading articles, blogs, manuals on various implementations, and interaction with online communities on these topics.
What do you think the future holds in this space?
– Self-sovereign identity will continue to grow as it allows users to have more control over their data (privacy).– CBDC has shown early signs of greater resilience, greater availability, and lower costs than a traditional currency, I see it as the right technology for currency exchange for the digital economy.– Blockchain adoption is continuing to expand in every sector, security issues are among the priorities to watch.
