How did you get to become an expert in your key topics?
IT has always been a passion for me. I only notice this today when friends or their children ask me how they can install Windows. My first operating system was Windows 98, and I was just 9 years old when installing it. This was followed by a really deep gamer past ;-).When I was 18, I wanted to become a submarine commander and joined the German Armed Forces. However, during my aerospace studies, I met my wife and didn’t want to go to the sea anymore. So, I was put on a random job → IT Security Officer :-). My main tasks were conceptual activities and checking the work of the administrators. I quickly got bored, which is why I started to deal with live hacking.
After my studies, I found my passions here. I decided to take a part-time job in a small consulting company where I was able to work as a junior pentester for large customers. I quickly won self-confidence and became a team leader. Due to less exciting projects, around two years later I decided to start my own business. And since 2018 my business has been doing very well with many major customers from all industries, like financial institutes, critical infrastructure, and insurance companies.
What sub-topics are you most passionate about?
I am interested in many areas of technical IT security. However, the interest in the area of red-teaming and penetration testing on enterprises stands out.

RustedSec, Specterops, Black Hills Information Security, and Troopers, Offensive Con.
What do you think the future holds in this space?
AI, automation, IoT, cloud = increasing complexity and deeper specializations.
