FinTech is a relatively new industry applying technology to improve financial activities. FinTech companies consist of both startups and established financial and technology companies trying to replace or enhance services provided by existing financial companies. Typical areas in which FinTech companies operate include online and mobile payments, alternative finance and financial management.
Investment into FinTech companies has risen dramatically from $2 Billion – $35 Billion since 2008, and is expected to reach $46 Billion in 2020 according to Statistica.
HOT TOPICS
We were really interested in seeing which topics associated with #FinTech received the most attention, so we analysed over 24.5M posts from 15th May 2017 – 15th May 2018, looking at social influence as well as authority by analysing how much influencers are referenced in online media, forums, blogs and YouTube content. These influencers were then added to our Influencer Relationship Management software (IRM) and this word cloud was created by measuring all the frequencies of all the keywords used in order to provide an accurate gauge of the conversation:
