Mario is the CEO and Founder of Vengreso. He spent 96 consecutive quarters in B2B Sales and Leadership. In 2021, he earned the #1 spot in the Top 10 Most Influential Business Leaders by Beyond Magazine. He is one of 20 sales influencers invited to appear in the Salesforce.com documentary film “The Story of Sales”. He was also named among the Top 10 Sales Influencers by The Modern Sales Magazine and Top 25 Most Influential Inside Sales Professional. Mario is also the host of the popular The Modern Selling Podcast.

How did you get to become an expert in your key topics?

I’ve spent the past 25 years in B2B sales, more specifically that’s 96 consecutive quarters! During that time, I have worked in a host of sectors, including, but not limited to: the Small Business, Mid-Market / Commercial / Majors, Nationals, Globals market, and within the Federal / Public Sector.

A little over six years ago, I was invited to speak at LinkedIn’s annual conference as a direct result of my launching a new digital selling sales training program. This was the very first of its kind and it included training in social and video selling prospecting for a global sales organization that was accustomed to doing only traditional old-school sales prospecting including knocking on business parks, cold calling, and email blasting.

At the time, it was one of the most successful LinkedIn implementations, and as a result, they asked me to speak at their annual users’ conference. Within three months of that opportunity to speak, I was afforded the position to venture out on my own to start a training and consulting firm doing sales prospecting training. Since then, Vengreso has become the world’s largest digital sales training and technology company, having served over 2,010 companies worldwide with our award-winning training and technology.

What sub-topics are you most passionate about?

I am most passionate about anything related to Sales, Social Selling, Video Selling, Sales Prospecting, Sales Messaging, Sales Productivity, Sales Tools, Content Marketing, Sales Engagement, Sales Tools, and Sales Enablement.

Who influences you within these topics?

I am an avid learner and pride myself on constantly reading and researching to better empower my sales teams and to create award-winning sales training. One particular marketing influencer that I enjoy learning from is Neil Patel. As a seller, I thoroughly appreciate immersing myself in the marketing side of things and mastering all there is to know about B2B marketing and selling.

Every year, I read no fewer than 2,000 blogs and watch well over 400 videos so I stay on top of what’s working across sales and marketing.

What do you think the future holds in this space?

The future of selling requires that sellers uplevel their skills to help them master the art of personalization. It is by personalizing every buyer touchpoint that modern sellers will be able to sell more. Tools and technology supporting the use of hyper-personalization, at scale, will be critical for the future of selling to enable the modern seller to reach more buyers, faster and more efficiently. Any tool that will allow sellers to create and send sales messages in seconds will truly increase their productivity and position sellers to dominate in the marketplace.

What brands are leading the way in this space?

There are various technologies out there that are designed to help sellers hit quota more efficiently and in less time. One such brand is a messaging and productivity tool called FlyMSG.io. It’s a free Chrome plugin and, on average, FlyMSG users are saving approximately 1 hour per day, by using this innovative tool’s FlyCuts (aka shortcodes) for sales messages.

What are your passions outside of work?

My passions outside of work are centered on my two boys, who are 8 and 11. We love to go on bike rides, hike and wrestle. I also love fine dining with my wife and enjoy exploring new foods that excite my taste buds. And as an extrovert who loves social gatherings, I truly get great fulfillment from being able to sit and talk and laugh with my family and friends.
