Location:Mumbai, India
Bio:

Sagrika is a co-founder at ConnexDoor, a strategic enabler platform that helps establish collaborations within the start-up ecosystem. Her interest lies in how new economies will take shape based on the digital-age-led money spends. She specializes in spotting upcoming trends and analyzing the FinTech ecosystem and has authored two publicly released Fintech reports on the Indian Fintech landscape. Additionally, she also writes jargon-free Fintech blogs, infographics, and records podcasts to spread the knowledge for anyone and everyone in the space. She also runs an initiative for fellow women entrepreneurs by the name of Fintecastic Women, for providing Fintech access to 2500+ women entrepreneurs across sectors.

How did you get to become an expert in your key topics?

Back in 2019, I started my internship which then converted into a full-time role as Fintech Analyst in ‘The Fintech Meetup‘. During this period, we undertook a road journey across India where we met 500+ Fintech startups grounds-up to gain an unparallel understanding of the landscape right from the people who are building it. On this journey, we also interacted with end-users, BFSI corporates, and Venture Investors to get a fair view on the flip side as well.

What sub-topics are you most passionate about?

I am super excited to see how well the following segments shape up in Fintech: Neo Banks, Account Aggregators, New-aged lending solutions, and Data analytics

Who influences you within these topics?

What challenges are brands facing in this space?

Speaking about the Indian Fintech landscape, the startups still face challenges convincing traditional BFSI players to adapt to new technology. Although India has seen a massive change in the last 2 years, thanks to COVID, there’s still a long opportunistic way to go!

When it comes to consumer-facing startups, raising awareness about the financial products comes as the first step for tier 2 & 3 city audiences.

What do you think the future holds in this space?

Largely every company is moving towards having a fintech play in their product. It started with biggies like Google and Amazon having Payment products which have now ended up with multiple lending and personal finance product. I see embedded finance going a long way in the future with super personalised fintech products provided as a service by every industry.

What brands are leading the way in this space?

India is one of the most mature markets when it comes to digital payment and organisations like NPCI, Paytm and PhonePe are playing a huge role in revolutionalising this landscape to the smallest of towns in India.

If a brand wanted to work with you, which activities would you be most interested in collaborating on?

Podcasts, Video Interviews, Product Innovation, and speaking opportunities are something we’d look forward to.

What are your passions outside of work?

I am a petrol head, super fascinated by cars, engines, and everything around it. Goes without saying, I am a Formula 1 follower. I also am a swing trader.

What would be the best way for a brand to contact you?
