Bio:
Being a Business Development Specialist for Critical Manufacturing is joining the best of two worlds - enjoying what i do, where i do it. Working hard and working out go hand-in-hand in my life. I focus on the digitalization needs of manufacturers with a focus on MES, IIoT, Digital Twin, Predictive Maintenance and ROI.
Filipa recently featured in Onalytica's Who's Who in Industry 4.0? report.

How did you get to become an expert in your key topics?

I have a degree in Management & Industrial Engineering. That was where everything began. Since I was a student that all the topics related to the industry challenges had my attention (which is kind of uncommon being a woman. Usually this is a man’s world). Then my career took the desired path, and after having worked for some IT companies, today I have the possibility to engage with some of the biggest companies worldwide interested in pursuing Industry 4.0.

What sub-topics are you most passionate about?

One of my favourite topics is ROI. I also have some background on finance, so I can easily show to prospects the real financial gains they can achieve if they implement our solution. Other topics such as IIoT and Predictive Maintenance.

Who influences you within these topics?

I cannot state one or two, i have some key influencers that i follow closely 🙂

What challenges are brands facing in this space?

Customization is the biggest challenge. Everyone wants an exclusive product and brands struggle everyday to deliver this premise. Another challenge that we see in our industries is the cloud. Not everyone, especially in more conservative industries such as medical device, is ready to migrate all their data to the cloud. There are still many questions to be solved in their minds.

What do you think the future holds in this space?

The future in this area is always challenging as the need of innovation drives our daily work. Artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT will evolve even more, and the power of data will have it’s peak. Manufacturers must be ready to embrace this big challenge with the adoption of this technologies.

What brands are leading the way in this space?

Critical Manufacturing, within the MES space, is one of the leading companies. Our newly IoT Data Platform combined with MES, has the power to deliver an unprecedented value to the shopfloor data, and as a result, manufacturers can now take decisions based on a solid and single source of truth. Other brands like Bosch, PTC are also leading initiatives such as the Factory of the Future.

If a brand wanted to work with you, which activities would you be most interested in collaborating on?

Podcasts are a nice and interest format nowadays. They are more personal, and a time-efficient form of communication that I can easily relate with.

What are your passions outside of work?

Workout is no doubt my biggest passion outside work. It allows me not only to keep in shape, but it is also important to my mental health. It gives me the necessary balance to face the daily challenges of such a high-pace working routine.

What would be the best way for a brand to contact you?

Via email or LinkedIn.
