How did you get to become an expert in your key topics?
I had my first experience with technology with serving in special operations in the military and then afterwards received my degree in MIS from the University of Tulsa, then went to work for Amerada Hess as a developer. Since then I have been in technology for 20+ years and served as a CIO, CTO and CISO for several global organizations, received my CISSP, ISSAP, ISSMP, CeH and other certifications and currently Head of Digital Business for Netsync where I spend literally every business day with both public and private sectors customers as a practitioner and executive adviser.

How would you describe your offline influence?
Last year I performed 44 speaking events and did over 105+ solutions or technology consults with customers big and small in both public and private sectors. Most of these are with C-level, board, or other leadership in regards to technology needs and opportunities. I often write numerous positioning or solution papers for customers on Zero Trust, cybersecurity, data center, IoT, IIoT, AI, business continuity, remote work to assist the client in building and executing against a roadmap to reach their desired outcomes.

What’s your best source of information for getting ahead of a story?
I spend literally every business day with large and small customers in both the public and private sectors discussing cybersecurity, data center, AI, IoT, remote work, and business continuity and align them with appropriate solutions via manufacturers. These engagements with both customers and manufacturers give me incredible information regarding trends, verticals, and potential solutions that unless I was doing this daily would be nearly impossible to gather and make actionable. I supplement this with events and discussions with other thought leaders for a rounded picture of a given subject of interest.
