Tess Hanna is an editor and writer at Solutions Review covering the Backup and Disaster Recovery, Data Storage, and Business Process Management markets. She has been working in an editorial role as a writer, editor, content strategist, marketing, communications, and social media professional in the enterprise technology sector for the past three years. During her time at Solutions Review, Tess has conducted research on trends within the enterprise technology space, written consumer buyer's guides, and organized social media events.

How did you get to become an expert in your key topics?

My work in the enterprise technology sector began when I started working at Solutions Review, which was my first full-time job out of college. During my time at the company, I have had the opportunity to deeply research my areas of coverage. This included consuming content from other tech influencers, interviewing practitioners, and then applying that knowledge to my own writing.

What topic areas are you most passionate about?

My main focus is data protection. It’s a field that’s essential in every industry, and I find the shift to the cloud and solutions that support, backup, recovery, business continuity, storage, and overall IT resilience fascinating to watch in real time.

Which influencers influence you within those key topics?

W. Curtis Preston, Demetrius Malbrough, Eric Herzog, and Calvin Zito are all great people to follow if you’re interested in the data protection space.

How would you describe your offline influence?

As of right now, working remotely, my influence is mainly online, but I’d love to work on expanding my network to offline spaces!

If a brand wanted to work with you, which activities would you be most interested in collaborating on?

I’d be happy to participate in Twitter chats, blogs, contributed articles, and whitepapers.

What’s your best source of information for getting ahead of a story?

Every day, I try to dedicate at least an hour to going through my news notifications, vendor news pages, and social media to try and get the best view on what stories or news will be relevant to the Solutions Review Audience.

What brands have you worked with?

Most recently, I worked with IBM, Asigra, HYCU, StorageCraft, Commvault, StorCentric, Veritas, Scale Computing, Quantum, and Datto for our second annual BUDR Insight Jam.

Which non-paid activities would you be keen to take part in if the opportunity raised your profile or delivered value to your audience?

I am keen to co-create long form content, provide a quote for content or news article, share / create a social post or participate in an online chat.

What are your passions outside of work?

I’m very passionate about movies and the film industry in general. I’m always interested in watching classic movies I haven’t seen before, learning more about foreign cinema, and revisiting old favorites.

What would be the best way for a brand to contact you?

You can reach me through email and on LinkedIn or Twitter.
