How did you get to become an expert in your key topics?

My background is rooted deeply within two very different fields: biotechnology and marketing. I came to the US to study bioscience management from KGI (Keck Graduate Institute) and thereafter I got interested in learning about data science. You know when you have that one crazy idea in your head and then it becomes a reality? That’s how I felt about Marktechpost. It all started with me having the desire for an AI-powered marketing tool, but instead my entrepreneurial skills (plus some help from my wife) led us down an entirely different path – towards building a media platform to showcase AI research stories and updates from around the world. The amount of traffic we’ve seen so far makes me want this job more than ever before–especially now that there is such strong demand across industries.

What sub-topics are you most passionate about?

Along with AI and healthtech, I am passionate about topics related to computer vision related research topics. I am also interested in making artificial intelligence accessible and understandable to people around the world.

It’s easy to get lost in the noise of big tech news and Twitter trends. Our goal with Coverage is not only to cover these stories, but also bring awareness for new AI related research happening from universities all over the world including ones you might have never heard about before or even thought existed.

I also visualized a lack of research based news in most big media company articles. A lot of the time, you’ll find clickbait or just hype with limited amounts of data to back it up and very little substance behind what’s being reported on.

Who influences you within these topics?

I try to learn from every influencer in the field of AI including Andrew Ng, Ian Goodfellow and a few others as mentioned in Onalytica’s Report – ‘Who’s Who in AI? (Influential Voices & Brands)

What challenges are brands facing in this space?

After working for several years in the field of AI media, I personally found that there is a huge gap between real AI knowledge and hype entertainment, especially by people who have no technical knowledge of AI. The hype around AI is so great that many people are misunderstanding it. The field of data science and artificial intelligence has been growing for years, but there’s still an imbalance between those who know what they’re doing and those applying this knowledge in their work or projects without understanding the technical aspects behind them.

What do you think the future holds in this space?

I think this is something beyond imagination. AI now is like the internet in 1995, it’s more than what we can comprehend and this just scratches its surface! It also needs to be taken seriously by all fields of knowledge so they may understand why data matters for our future – as humans with access to these new technologies that will shape humanity’s destiny.

What brands are leading the way in this space?

As a media professional, I try to include every brand’s latest achievements in AI including big tech companies, startups, research institutions and universities.

What are your passions outside of work?

I love spending time with my family and traveling.
